yes.  not only won't it find the camera on its own,
it will not recognize the camera even with the -p port# option.

i thought i'd just screwed up the compile - didn't count on a
kernel problem.  i used to run 1.2.8 until last sunday (lets do
the superblock smash!) when i was forced to reinstall so moved
up the kernel level.

and you say the latest 1.3.x doesn't do ppp?  so what's are
my options here?
