Yet another newbie question

Hello all.
I'm trying to create another LiveCam site for my ISP.
On a P100/32 Meg (windoze95) I'm testing a QuickCam2 color, using WebCam32
to send images.
But all the stuff is a real hog: I use Microsoft WinTop to test system
resources and I see that WebCam32 eats from 90% to 98% of CPU time, and the
same does QPict32.
What's your advice: to change camera or to change software?
I need to have date and time on pics, so I can't use a simple
"grab-and-send" program, but if this one is really good and fast I can put
a clock where the camera can see it :-)

TIA
