performance

Does anyone know how the drivers would perform on a 386DX/40?  I am using
the machine (under Linux) to route serial logins at 9600 baud (only a few)
through telnet connections.  I would not think this is too processor
intensive.  I am looking for input as to whether or not you all think it's
possible to put a qcam (b/w or color) on it for on-demand pic grabbing
without draining system resources too much.  The system has 8mb RAM also.
