I run mine at 5m, using thick serial cable and keyboard extension leads,
the thinner the cable the more loss of signal and blurred pictures you
will get.

You might be better looking at a Network Eye device, which allows you to
place the cam remotely and you are limited to the length of UTP network
cable.
