Cameras can be switched using mechanical printer switch, although
software may hang or get corrupted image if it's running while cameras sre
switching.

Analog signal is sent through the cable, and after the connector it's
parallel interface. Both have rather small maximum length, and to extend
camera cable one probably will have to replace it completely. That Network
Eye webcam server is pretty small, so you can use it, but connecting to PC
and having it on the network may be simplier.
